Description

Newport Restaurant Group is looking for a Sales Assistant & Event Manager to join the team.

This role will be based in Newport, RI.

About the Position: In the Sales & Event Manager role, you will plan private events at our restaurant (s). The Event Manager will coordinate with internal teams, including culinary, service, and operations, to deliver events that reflect our brand’s high standards for service, cuisine, and atmosphere. A strong candidate will have a proven track record in event planning, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality

About You: You are passionate, energetic and to whom pleasing and impressing guests comes naturally.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact after an event is confirmed
  • Conduct site tours and client consultations
  • Prepare and present event proposals and banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • Maintain relationships with repeat clients
  • Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and operations teams to ensure event details are executed to client expectations
  • Oversee all event details from booking through execution including menu selection, floor plans, AV, décor, and timeline
  • Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and service teams to ensure event requirements are met
  • Assist with post-event follow-up including feedback and billing
  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant offerings, capabilities, and policies
  • Attends industry meetings and events which may take place outside of regular business hours

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Competitive compensation - $$60,000-$65,000/Year – Plus Commission!

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of event coordination experience in the food-beverage-hospitality industry.
  • Experience with high-end weddings and customized events required
  • Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative skills, organized and detail oriented and prepared to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced, high volume, aggressive sales atmosphere
  • Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
