DATA ENTRY SPECIALIST

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Data Entry Specialist to join our team! 

JOB SUMMARY: To enter data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing and data management purposes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The Data Entry Specialist:)

1. Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
2. Check source documents for accuracy
3. Verify data and correct data where necessary
4. Obtain further information for incomplete documents
5. Update data
6. Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required
7. Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
8. Transcribe information into required electronic format
9. Check completed work for accuracy
10. Store completed documents in designated locations
11. Maintain logbooks or records of activities and tasks
12. Comply with data integrity and security policies
13. Maintains confidentiality.

Education/Certification:  High School Diploma.

Experience:  2 years of computer experience, data entry preferred.

Equipment/Technology:  Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office.  Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed.  Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.  Formal computer training an advantage.

Language/Communication:  Good communications skills. Medical Terminology beneficial.  Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.  Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.

Mental Capabilities:  Ability to work under pressure, general problem solving.  Planning and organizing.  Information collection and management.

Performance:  Attention to detail.
