Delivery Assistant Territory Managers (ATM’s) assist Territory Managers in ensuring that all delivery routes within their territory are efficiently routed, properly staffed and best serviced on a daily basis to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.   ATM’s supervise delivery personnel while in the market, work closely with customers, and ensure product quality and rotation within accounts.  They train and develop new drivers with the hands-on requirements of the job.  Successful ATM’s are able to build strong relationships with customers and are self-motivated, communicative and thrive in work environments requiring collaboration, team work, interpersonal skills and managing conflict internally and externally.

• Must be 21 years or older
• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; or High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) or more years related experience in transportation, delivery, or logistics
• Proven experience in and an understanding of Delivery and Warehouse Operations
• Clean driving record
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
• Ability to secure and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws
• Must be certified to use power equipment (ex: electric pallet jacks and forklifts)

Responsibilities

• Mentor drivers
• Assist in managing drivers to include achievement of daily delivery objectives and ensuring customer needs at accounts
• Responsible for fostering and maintaining excellent customer relations
• Assist with training, developing, evaluating and motivating drivers to foster the success of individual contributors and overall team success
• Make recommendations for advancement and evaluation of drivers
• Assist with performance and discipline management of drivers
• Assist in monitoring delivery personnel progress with established expectations
• Assist in managing delivery personnel time and attendance
• Review and follow up on SmartDrive reports for driver performance improvement, coaching and corrective action
• Assist in investigating problems and carrying out a course of action to correct issue
• Ensure product quality and rotation at accounts. Handle major accounts. Resolve issues when they arise within an account
• Responsible for overseeing delivery personnel’s completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections and inspections of other equipment
• Build and maintain strong relationships internally and with customers
• Work flexible hours which includes early mornings and late nights if needed.  May include weekends on occasion, and additional hours during peak seasons
• Run delivery routes as necessary to ensure product is delivered timely and efficiently

Working Conditions

• Able to maintain very high proficiency and job standards while working in a non-temperature controlled environment that includes exposure to heat, high humidity, and inclement weather

Physical Requirements and Essential Functions

• Regular, reliable attendance required
• Able to frequently use hand trucks, stairs, ramps, and docks
• Able to talk and hear, stand and walk, sit, reach with arms and hands, lift and carry, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Able to down stack and relocate large amounts of product, including kegs weighing up to 180 lbs throughout the day
• Some work in refrigerated area, with some overhead lifting required
• Able to frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Able to learn and maintain knowledge of company and products
• Must have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance
