Are you passionate about creative arts and design with a desire to use them to invite people into community, mission, and spiritual formation? Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is seeking a faithful and dedicated Creative Team Designer to oversee marketing, design graphics, manage social media, and be involved in all our creative endeavors and projects for our church and its ministries.

 Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM) is a Jesus Formed Community on Mission. Community, Formation and Mission are the three main ways that we believe we are to live out our discipleship to Jesus. We believe that through Gospel teaching, training, and resources, God’s people are enabled to take their discipleship into their own hands. We do this by living out the listening, serving, and helping posture of Jesus in our church community.

As a Marketing Overseer, you will be taking an active role in the formation of our church and the way we engage with art and creativity. We would ideally like for you to have 3 years experience in graphic design and/or social media management. We are looking for someone skilled in their technique and passionate about serving God with their abilities. They should be able to interact well with pastors, church leaders, volunteers, vendors, newcomers, and other staff members. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position, by displaying the fruits of the Spirit and praying with staff and members of our congregation. We are looking for someone with a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Jesus will be an example to everyone they come in contact with.

As a member of the Creative Team your responsibilities would include:Â
- Participation in Sunday morning gatherings to gather content, gain vision, and effectively implement communication strategies. Being available to any assigned Sunday Team duties and roles.Â
- Design / create within the aesthetic established by the brand guide and Creative Lead of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.Â
- Think creatively and strategically to develop layouts, designs, decor, art installations, and all other creative expressions of the mission of Calvary Chapel and its endeavors. Engaging with every area of communications, including digital, print, on campus, and in the community as is applicable to your role and assignments.  Â
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internally and externally) to create deliverables and solutions in print, digital, and tangible assets to communicate the church’s goals.
- Contribute to the creative process by providing ideas through, but not limited to, visual inspiration.
- Work alongside the whole creative team to ensure projects are delivered on time and on brief
- Have the ability to prioritize, scope, and project manage multiple projects at once
- Interact, communicate, and present ideas clearly and effectively to all necessary individuals.Â
- Maintain proper file management, archives, and organizational systems.
- Communicate with vendors and contractors, delivering assets and remitting payments in a timely manner.Â
- Maintain a working knowledge of various design software such as Adobe Illustrator, In Design & Photoshop, and current design trends.
- Receive and implement training on photography, videography, and design as needed, being available to contribute or oversee photo and video projects.Â
As the Designer over Marketing on the Creative Team, you would be responsible for:
- Having a strong understanding of communications strategy, writing/editing, graphic design and social media, with a high value on audience engagement and spiritual formation.Â
- Keep social media/website engaging and aligned with the church’s broader mission, vision, and values.
- Social Media Oversight such as:Â
- Develop and curate engaging content for church communications and share across all digital and social media platforms
- Create and implement digital communication strategies across all platforms.Â
- Manage and optimize website, mobile app, and tv apps communication by keeping information up to date and organized.
- Promote church-related events and opportunities through the church's various communication channels.
- On-Campus Marketing such as the bulletin boards, signage, and banners
- Intentional observation of local marketing opportunities for Calvary Chapel and it’s initiatives.

Qualifications:
- College degree and/or at least 2-3 years experience in related field
- Must have the ability to organize and communicate with mid-level and senior leadership
- Must have a strong working knowledge of graphic design software and principals.
- Must have an understanding of excellence in art, advertising, and communication.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems in a timely manner
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be a team player
- Must possess an understanding of the Christian work environment
- Must be willing to cross-train in other areas of media and ministry
