Summary of Job Duties: Under the general direction of the Head of Sales, the Inside Sales Representative will engage in dynamic phone-based sales activities with retail health food accounts, driving revenue growth for our portfolio of manufactured and distributed brands. This role requires a proactive approach to account management, collaboration with field sales representatives, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.

Specific Job Duties:

  1. Proactively engage with retail health food accounts through outbound and inbound calls to promote and sell manufactured and distributed brands, leveraging sales techniques and best practices.
  2. Handle incoming orders, upselling where possible to maximize revenue opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives to develop strategic growth plans, execute promotions, and drive account-level business growth.
  4. Identify and secure new business opportunities by conducting targeted internet searches, leveraging directories, and utilizing trade publications.
  5. Build lasting rapport with customers, educating them on product offerings, addressing objections, and confidently closing sales.
  6. Maintain an organized call schedule, ensuring timely and productive appointment calls.
  7. Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge seminars to stay informed and enhance performance.
  8. Adhere to all company and departmental policies, ensuring consistent standards of performance and conduct.
  9. Support marketing initiatives by implementing campaigns and driving promotional activities within accounts.
  10. Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Threshold Management

 


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  1. At least 2 years of proven experience in inside sales, phone-based sales, or telemarketing.
  2. Demonstrated success in negotiation and closing deals, supported by prior work experience.
  3. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and familiarity with CRM systems.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building long-term customer relationships.

Skills and/or Training Desired:

  1. Nutritional background a plus (knowledge of vitamins, dietary supplements, and/or natural products industry)
  2. Project management and/or project team experience working within cross-functional project teams.
  3. Sales Savvy: Results-driven with a tenacious approach to meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  4. Customer-Centric: Strong ability to build rapport and educate customers on product benefits and solutions.
  5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective account growth strategies in collaboration with Field Representatives.
  6. Organized & Detail-Oriented: Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills to manage a busy call calendar.
  7. Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes additional responsibilities and challenges.
