Summary: The Gymnastics Instructor will teach Pre-Team and Team practices. Additional recreational gymnastics classes may be taught. Must have some gymnastics experience. Occasional weekend hours are required during meet season (January-April). Evening hours required Mon-Thurs. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct gymnastics lessons in accordance with PDHP's gymnastics curriculum.
  • Teaching skills essential to the development and growth of gymnasts' abilities and progress.
  • Understand skill levels and teach in a progressive and safe manner.
  • Attend all informational staff meetings.
  • Possess knowledge of gymnastics skills and progressions and proper apparatus execution.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and progress reports as required
  • Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to participant and facility emergencies, including completion of accident/incident or minor injury log.
  • Follow all Park District policies and procedures.
  • Performs other Park District-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
American Red Cross CPR/AED (as needed).


Wage Range: $20.00-$30.00 per hour depending on qualifications 


Classification: Part-time, non-exempt


Schedule: Evenings Monday-Thursday during the months of September - May. Occasional weekend hours are required during January-April for gymnastics meets.

Working Conditions: Must be able to respond quickly and accurately. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
