Summary

The Cost Accountant will play a key role in driving financial efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making by analyzing project financials and managing budgets. This role focuses on cost control and project performance within a manufacturing environment, utilizing Dynamics F&O for financial tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, and experience supporting cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze project costs, financials, and performance metrics to ensure accurate reporting and effective cost management
  • Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and financial constraints
  • Utilize Dynamics F&O to manage and track project costs, budgets, and financial data
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analyses, cost forecasts, and project profitability assessments
  • Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to accurately capture direct, indirect, and overhead manufacturing costs
  • Partner with managers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the manufacturing and project accounting functions

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency in Dynamics F&O or similar ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting methods, such as standard costing or job costing
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to clearly present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting or a similar role within a manufacturing environment
