Qualifications

 POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Web and Graphic Designer is responsible for leading the creative design efforts that elevate the Goodwill San Antonio brand and support the organization’s mission. This role involves the end-to-end development of compelling marketing campaigns and materials across digital and print platforms. The designer will oversee brand integrity, guide junior designers, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver user-focused, visually engaging content. They will also manage creative projects, ensure brand consistency across all assets, and stay current with design trends and technologies to maintain innovative, high-impact design execution.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Strategies & Design Execution

  • Conceptualize and execute best-in-class marketing and advertising designs to support brand awareness and project goals.
  • Provide creative art direction for a wide range of assets, including website and landing pages, email campaigns, social media content, infographics, flyers, annual reports, presentations, and in-store or out-of-home signage.
  • Develop design strategies for digital and print campaigns that are visually appealing and aligned with user experience principles.
  • Ensure all creative output meets accessibility, usability, and functionality standards, resulting in positive user experiences.

Brand Strategy & Management

  • Supervise the implementation of brand identity and style guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative and communication touchpoints.
  • Maintain and update brand guidelines, logos, templates, and messaging to ensure cohesion across internal and external campaigns and communications.
  • Guide the execution of the brand across digital and traditional mediums, including photography, video, social media, blog content, and printed collateral.

Project & Team Leadership

  • Lead design projects from conception through final production, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Mentor junior designers, offering feedback and guidance to enhance their design and professional development.
  • Track time and status updates for multiple concurrent projects and report progress to Marketing leadership monthly.

Collaboration & Integration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, communications, workforce development, and business units to develop tailored creative that aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure seamless integration of visual and digital content within web and print deliverables.

 

Digital Marketing Support

  • Create digital media graphics and video content for social media and digital advertising platforms.
  • Understand and follow web design standards when creating and refreshing website content.
  • Stay informed on SEO practices and optimize graphics and content to maximize web engagement.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate creative campaign performance and share insights with stakeholders.

Innovation & Trend Awareness

  • Stay current with design trends, digital platforms, and evolving user behavior to ensure content remains fresh and impactful.
  • Recommend tools and technologies that streamline design processes and improve creative output.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Commercial Art, or related field.
  2. Minimum 8 years of professional design experience with a focus on digital and print marketing, including creative development, design, copy, production, and/or media planning.
  3. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with proficiency in Figma, Canva, Sketch, and prototyping tools.
  4. Strong portfolio showcasing diverse creative work, including digital campaigns, branding, and print collateral.
  5. Advanced knowledge of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  6. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining brand guidelines and style guides.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of collaborating across departments and presenting ideas clearly.
  8. Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects with minimal supervision.
  9. Experience mentoring or leading junior creatives.
  10. Ability to effectively work independently and a part of a team.
  11. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SEO best practices is a plus.
