Custodian

Schedule/Hours: M-TH 8a-4:30p, F 8a-2:30p

This position is responsible for:

• Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

• Cleans kitchen and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens

• Cleans and maintains parking lot, sidewalk, and outdoor property as needed

• Ability to be aware of possible exposure, while performing duties, to unsanitary conditions, unpleasant odors, and hazardous concentrated chemicals, and be prepared to respond with the applicable protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Ability to meet attendance requirements

• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language

• Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work

• Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull (less than25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

• Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors. Possible exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
