Diesel Mechanic
Compensation: $33-$40 DOE
Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday 8am-4:30pm & Sunday- Thursday 1pm- 10pm
Summary: The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment used in seafood production, distribution, and transportation. This role ensures all company trucks, forklifts, and generators operate safely and efficiently to support daily seafood operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on:
- Cummins diesel engines (various models used in Class 8 tractors)
- Volvo electric semi-trucks (EV drivetrains, battery systems, electrical diagnostics)
- ThermoKing and Carrier refrigeration units (refer trailer systems)
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on trucks and reefers per DOT and company standards
- Maintain accurate service logs, and inspection reports
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in combustion and electric drivetrains
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces and adhere to safety protocols
