Now Hiring: Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst, you’ll work under the leadership of the AVP – Financial Analytics where you will support the production, reporting, and analysis of financial metrics and assists the Senior Financial Analysts with meeting department and Credit Union performance goals. Assists in the budget and forecasting process on an annual and quarterly basis, respectively, and ad-hoc analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the production, analysis and distribution of the monthly executive report book and actual-to-budget reports, including the identification and analysis of abnormalities and trends.
  • Assist the senior team members with the monthly maintenance and analysis of profitability and budget software.
  • Actively participates in the development and roll-out of the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, including providing support and analysis for business units.
  • Supports asset-liability management-related modeling efforts by third-party vendor through analysis and review of model results.
  • Reviews financial statements and related comprehensive analyses for variances and trends.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly NCUA Call Report. Help coordinate the collection of data and ensure compliance with NCUA instructions.
  • Analyzes drivers of credit union metrics with members and makes recommendations for alternative measures based on in-depth understanding of credit union goals and performance.
  • Assist with forecasting and planning activities for the Credit Union.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • One year of related experience in finance, accounting, or lending is required. Experience within the financial industry is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Builds relationships and fosters positive interactions with Credit Union team members, members, and vendors by demonstrating friendly, helpful, and efficient service. Good written and verbal communication skills, patience, active listening, and sound judgment are required. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, business applications, and the ability to learn the core system and other related software are required. Must have the ability to apply cognitive reasoning to daily tasks, take ownership, and work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos is required. Ability to dissect raw data into a summarized analysis and perform research on current and new financial analysis practices is required. Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and skillful with time management. Efficient with multitasking, problem-solving, and practical application. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing the quality and accuracy of work performed.
