Concrete Finisher

Capital Paving and Construction is looking for Concrete Finishers for the Springfield/Ozark area. These positions are full-time, benefit eligible positions. Capital offers a great benefit package including:

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for the final concrete pavement quality.  Know or train how to properly finish concrete.  Thoroughly understand all requirements of the project you are paving – edge slump, vertical face, pavement thickness, offset, profile offset, smoothness, surface grout depth, consolidation, and surface.  Understanding concrete slip-form paving is a huge plus.
• Good communication skills are required and an ability to focus on tasks at hand, be a self-motivator, and to work well with others. 
• Construction background required, prefer flatwork paving or heavy/highway construction experience. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner under varying weather conditions, while exposed to dampness, fumes, dust, electrical, mechanical and traffic hazards is a plus.
• Communicate with foreman and coworkers to the daily job specifications.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary and work with labor crew when not finishing or operating equipment.
• Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
• Work with powered and non-powered hand tools (i.e., rakes, shovels, etc.).
• Work in a variety of positions throughout the day including standing, stooping, bending at the waist, at waist level, shoulder height and above the head.

REQUIREMENTS:

• • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel with some overnights possible.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions including hot and cold temperatures and humidity.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on construction projects.
  • Ability to properly follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements for safe working procedures and environments.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check, physical, drug, and alcohol testing.
