Project Management Support: The contractor shall perform on-site PM and QA services for MRDC. This requirement is primarily Project Management support but there may be Quality Assurance tasks assigned as needed. The MRDC has a Medical Military Construction (MILCON) project, Bldg. 8100 Construction, that was recently turned over to the government which requires several follow-on projects to complete. The construction management specialist will attend meetings, review submittals and perform onsite visits. Individual is responsible for the effective development of repair and minor construction documents/Scopes of Work and oversight of the project management of renovation and new construction projects to ensure the “Owners” requirements for quality and timeliness are achieved. This is accomplished through working with other contractors and contacting activities, such as USA Corps of Engineers to accomplish the work. The construction management specialist will advise the Deputy Chief of Staff for Facilities of all issues that require his action or the action of senior leaders. Key areas of focus are the review of documentation to ensure that required documentation is complete and usable for the maintenance and operations of the facility once the project is turned over to the Command.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in project management, architecture, or similar discipline and at least three years’ medical research project management and construction management experience.
Required Skills:
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, and analyze building and equipment drawings and blueprints, interpret specifications such as medical design criteria, the Uniform Facility Criteria (UFC’s), Federal Building Code requirements technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts used by various disciplines related to project management including development, facility planning, architectural concepts, and design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in using computer technology; spreadsheets, databases, and word processing systems.
- Compliance with the Federal Building Personnel Training Act of 2010.
