NIKA is hiring for a Hazardous Waste Coordinator who will be responsible for the on-site support at the USCG Family Housing Maintenance Services Training Center (TRACEN) in Cape May, NJ! This is a pro-active opportunity that NIKA will be bidding on and hiring for post award.

Job Duties:
- The Hazardous Waste Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining hazardous waste management activities in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as U.S. Coast Guard policies and procedures.
- The coordinator ensures the proper collection, storage, labeling, documentation, and disposal of hazardous and universal wastes while maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient program.
- Oversees the accumulation, segregation, labeling, and storage of hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.
- Conduct weekly inspections of waste accumulation areas and maintain required inspection logs and records.
- Coordinate hazardous waste shipments, including manifest preparation, scheduling with approved transporters, and verifying disposal at permitted treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs).
- Maintain and update site hazardous waste inventories, manifests, and related documentation.
- Support compliance audits, environmental inspections, and spill response activities.
- Train on-site personnel and contractors on hazardous waste handling procedures and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain waste management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response protocols.
- Support other environmental program areas as needed (e.g., stormwater, spill prevention, pollution prevention).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management or environmental compliance, preferably in a federal or military setting.
- Hazardous Waste Management Certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, DOT).
- Experience with hazardous waste manifesting, labeling, storage, and shipment procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Clearance Access Card (CAC)
- U.S. Citizenship required
