Description

Our company is a well-established multistate company that is continuing to grow and expand. We strive to create a family atmosphere where everyone is friendly and appreciates one another.  The Operations Manager position is a key member of the leadership team responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse as it pertains to labor management, shipping and receiving, inventory management, quality assurance, and safety.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:

 

  • Ensures the physical condition of warehouse and equipment are properly maintained
  • Consults with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as logistics and transportation
  • Partners with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requests
  • Ensures safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and security
  • Ensures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systems
  • Leads an efficient and successful operation while successfully overcoming any barriers to success
  • Implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement
  • Monitors and ensures facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivity of the warehouse
  • Manages and maintains good human resources practices with all associates, and adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Works with Management and Human Resources to resolve employee relation issues, discipline actions, problem resolution and terminations
  • Ensures adequate staffing, training, coaching and development for employees
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems
  • Other duties as required and assigned 

 

Required Skills/Qualifications

 

  • At least 5 years of management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experience with warehouse management systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment
  • Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives preferred
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must be PC literate and proficient with MS Office and Excel
  • Excellent supervisory skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
