Job Title: Director of Marketing

Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer

 

Position Summary

The Director of Marketing will lead the Center for Child Protection’s marketing and communications efforts to elevate awareness, engage key audiences, and support the organization’s mission. The Director will manage the marketing department, collaborate with the Board Marketing Committee, and ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives. This position reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the executive leadership team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that supports the Center’s mission, goals, and strategic plan
  • Oversees the creative development and execution of campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and sensitivity to the topic of child abuse
  • Leads the enhancement of the Center’s public image to increase awareness of its services and advocacy efforts

 

Department and Committee Management

  • Manages the marketing department, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development for team members
  • Supervises the Senior Marketing Team, Public Relations & Communications Manager, Social Media Manager, Bilingual Marketing Specialist and the Digital Marketing & Design Specialist positions.
  • Develops opportunities for the department to further connect to the Mission
  • Fosters a collaborative and results-driven environment that encourages creativity and innovation
  • Evaluates and optimizes departmental processes, workflows, onboarding and resource allocation for maximum efficiency and effectiveness
  • Serves as the staff liaison to the Board Marketing Committee, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals, providing strategic direction, and leveraging committee expertise to enhance the Center’s efforts

 

Marketing and Communications

  • Supervises the creation and distribution of print, digital, and multimedia content to promote the Center’s programs, services, and fundraising efforts
  • Oversees public relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases, and crisis communication
  • Oversees online/offline campaigns across all current marketing and communications categories to drive engagement and reach across diverse audiences

 

Budget Oversight and Resource Management

  • Oversees the marketing budget, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with the Center’s goals
  • Collaborates with the executive team to align marketing investments with organizational priorities

 

Community Engagement and Partnerships

  • Builds relationships with community stakeholders, including media outlets, local businesses, and influencers, to increase the Center’s reach

 

Additionally:

  1. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the mission, core values and vision of the organization and the children’s advocacy model
  2. Attends monthly staff meetings and other community meetings as assigned
  3. Provides program support for forensic, therapy and medical appointments, as needed
  4. Follows Center policies and procedures at all times
  5. Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, including leadership roles
  • Proven success in managing marketing teams, committees, and departmental operations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to the topic of child abuse
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and analytics
  • Experience in managing budgets and leading cross-functional teams
  • Passion for child advocacy and the Center’s mission
