The Opportunity

HealthEZ is seeking a Data Engineer who will be responsible for collaborating with IT to develop scalable data pipelines while primarily focusing on translating business needs into meaningful analytics and insights leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Dataflows and Lakehouse architecture. This role will be critical in bridging the gap between business requirements and data solutions, developing impactful analytics, and supporting data-driven decision making across the organization. This role will report to our Director of Data Analytics. This role can support 100% remote work.

What you will do

  • Design and Develop Data Solutions: Architect, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and solutions using Microsoft Fabric components, such as Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, and Lakehouse.
  • Data Integration: Integrate diverse data sources—including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments—using best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Modeling and Transformation: Build effective data models, perform advanced data transformations, and ensure data quality and consistency across platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to gather requirements, define data processes, and deliver analytics-ready datasets.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data workflows for optimal performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement enhancements for reliability and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Standards: Produce comprehensive documentation for data solutions, adhere to enterprise standards, and promote best practices in data engineering.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure data solutions comply with organizational policies, data privacy regulations, and security protocols.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with Microsoft Fabric updates, emerging technologies, and industry trends to continuously improve solution quality and effectiveness.

Qualifications

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or relevant fields; equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and other data engineering languages.
  • Experience with cloud services, preferably Azure, and Microsoft Fabric tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components, including but not limited to Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, OneLake, Lakehouse, and Power BI.
  • Strong skills in designing relational and dimensional data models, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum development methodologies, with proven ability to manage tasks, prioritize workloads, and deliver solutions on time.
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate is preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and real-time data systems.
  • Background in working with enterprise data warehouses, lakehouses, and distributed data platforms.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics solutions using Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience integrating data across multiple sources and business domains.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting standards in healthcare, finance, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or similar cloud-based ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with delta lake, parquet, and other big data formats.
  • Experience integrating APIs and automating data ingestion workflows.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting standards in healthcare, finance, or another regulated industry.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving best practices in the data engineering landscape
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a data-driven mindset to identify opportunities and anticipate challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborates effectively, shares knowledge, and supports others to achieve shared goals.
  • Proactively seeks new opportunities to innovate and improve data infrastructure.
  • Understands stakeholder requirements and aligns solutions to meet business needs.

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $80,000-$110,000*
