PHP Web Developer

U.S. Based PHP Web Developer
Compensation: $77,000-96,000 starting annual salary + tri-annual bonuses!
Location: Either Minneapolis, KS or Sidney, NE with possibility of working remotely.

We are seeking a talented and motivated PHP Developer to join our team. As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for the web development activities required to develop, enhance, and manage the consumer web application that supports Huyett’s online business. You will work closely with project managers, agency partners and internal teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that create a best-in-class ecommerce experience.

Responsibilities:

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to coding standards
• Design and develop custom Oro Commerce modules, extensions, and integrations using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Create and maintain database structures, queries, and APIs to support web applications
• Identify and troubleshoot issues related to server-side web application logic, databases, and APIs
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in eCommerce and PHP development
• Ensure the security of the web application logic, databases, and APIs by implementing appropriate security measures
• Own delivery cadence, backlog grooming, estimation, sprint planning, and release management (release notes, change logs, stakeholder updates)
• Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to promote accountability to project timelines
• Lead QA/UAT, define acceptance criteria and test plans, triage defects, and ensure high-quality, on-time releases
• Integrate and operate external systems/APIs (ERP/PIM, shipping carriers, payments); implement logging, retries/timeouts, and monitoring

Ideal Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and other server-side web development technologies
• Strong object-oriented design (OOD) skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
• Experience working with web services, including HTTP, XML, and JSON
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of APIs and how they work, including RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, and GraphQL APIs
• Experience with PHPUnit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Will be a plus:

• Experience with Symfony, Laravel or Zend frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• Hands on experience with practices such as continuous integration, planning and code analysis
• Experience with Magento
• Experience with CRM and eCommerce systems
• Basic understanding of C# and .NET framework to support legacy systems
