Major Responsibilities
- The Executive Pastor of Ministries’s primary calling will be to oversee, support, and empower the following staff members:
- Lake Country Campus Pastor (Presently Vacant) OR the Brookfield Campus Worship Ministries Director
- Elmbrook En Espanol Campus Pastor
- Mission & Mobilization Pastor
- Discipleship Ministries Pastor
- Care Ministry Pastor
- Engagement Director (Emerging Role)
- Outreach Pastor (Anticipated 2027)
- The Executive Pastor of Ministries will empower the above staff through team meetings, strategic planning, and missional enterprise. The Executive Pastor of Ministries will assist in hiring and review processes, week-to-week organization, and cultural development. The Executive Pastor of Ministries will be a proponent for both the work of the Executive Pastor of Ministries’s direct reports and of the vision of the Senior Pastor and Council of Elders..
- The Executive Pastor of Ministries will serve with the Executive Pastor of Operations and the Senior Pastor to hold in trust the core values, key genetics, and Galatians 5 culture that will sustain strong staff health and fruitful ministry outcomes.
- An Executive Pastor of Ministries with demonstrated gifts for preaching will be invited to share in the teaching of the Word 15-20 times per year across Elmbrook campuses (approximately 1.5 times per month).
- The Executive Pastor of Ministries will serve as on the Council of Elders, participate on the Senior Leadership Team, and Chair the Formation Council, a staff body comprised of the pastors, directors, and coordinators who shepherd Elmbrook’s members.

- A proven track record of leading leaders
- A gift for engaging Biblical teaching from the pulpit and in other venues
- Demonstrated aptitude in both IQ and EQ
- The patience and curiosity to nurture emerging leaders while manifesting a commitment to innovation and improvement
- A love for the Global Church - and a love for learning from her
- A deep understanding of discipleship as core to the Christian experience
- The inner fortitude to lead the strongest members of a pastoral team and the tenderness to empathize with the most sensitive members of the group
- A great sense of humor
Employment Information
This position is full-time, salaried and classified as exempt. Salary dependent on experience, skills & education

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan is the first of the month following date of hire. On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 3%. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
Additional Pastoral Benefits
Elmbrook pastors are self-employed and responsible for filing and paying their federal and state income taxes. Pastors who receive net earnings of at least $400 from the performance of pastoral duties must file a federal tax return regardless of whether they are exempt from Social Security coverage.
A housing allowance is given to our pastors for residence compensation. You will receive a form from our HR Department for pastors to complete in order to assist us in determining the amount of housing allowance you will receive. Pastors are permitted to exclude from their church income (for federal income tax purposes) a housing allowance designated by their employing church, to the extent that this allowance is used to pay housing expenses.
The Self Employment Contributions Act refers to the rate that self-employed people pay for Social Security. Self-employed persons pay the full SECA rate which is currently 15.3%. Housing allowances are taxable for SECA tax calculations. Elmbrook Church will pay each pastor approximately one half of pastors SECA pay. Through an established calculation, payments are disbursed during the last payroll of both June and December.
Reporting Structure
The Executive Pastor of Ministries will be accountable and report directly to the Senior Pastor of Elmbrook Church.
