Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.

Our Ambulance Readiness Technicians will provide direct support to field providers by ensuring our fleet is clean and ready for service. In this role you will partner with EMT and Paramedic crews to fully equip their ambulance with all required single-use items, maintain good working order of medical equipment, and ensure a clean, sanitary environment for our patients. This is a full-time position with variable day and night shifts.

Starting as a technician with AMT will allow you opportunities to train into a provider role as an EMT-Basic! 

Tasks:

  • Wash, clean, and decontaminate ambulances
  • Stock ambulances with necessary medical supplies and equipment
  • Ensure all medical equipment is in working order
  • Audit medical equipment and complete corresponding documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized supply room and garage floor

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Current EMT license in Illinois or ability to obtain, preferred but not required
  • Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds (subject to physical exam)
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
