Project Manager – Department of Defense (DOD) Experience

GLE Associates is actively seeking a Project Manager for our US Federal Project work based out of Tampa, Jacksonville, or Atlanta. We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified client facing manager to help lead existing Federal projects and to assist in the expansion of our Federal services work in Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Building Forensics, Facility and Construction services.

GLE is a leading integrated environmental, industrial hygiene, facilities and construction consulting firm, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with offices throughout Florida and the Southeastern United States.

 

Project Manager will manage Federal projects which includes oversight of the project execution as well as day-to-day project management for key, strategic projects. Financial management of the program is critical, ensuring key deadlines are met and top-quality products are delivered to our clients.

Responsible for ultimate client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities and will work with other managers and experts to market current clients and develop, identify, and attract new clients and recruit high-quality staff.

Job Description:

  • Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other Federal clients.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact with client (USACE) and prime contractors.
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts and preparing fee proposals
  • Delivering positive financial metrics including as sold profit, billings, and collection management
  • Managing and leading teams and staff assigned for United States Federal DOD and Civilian projects
  • Successfully developing strategy, mitigation efforts, proposals, contract review, and leading project teams to execute projects
  • Managing and leading all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using established processes and tools
  • Managing teams across business lines
  • Managing subconsultant scope, fees, deliverables, and performance
  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the execution of projects
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensuring resource availability and allocation
 
  • Developing and monitoring a detailed project plan to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner
  • Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk
  • Measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Reporting and escalating to management as needed
  • Managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Performing risk management to minimize project risks
  • Maintaining project documentation control
  • Delegating project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels

 

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Architecture, Environmental or one of the following Building Engineering disciplines: Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years as an A/E project manager is preferred
  • 5+ years of Federal experience, i.e. NAVFAC, USACE, or USAF (DoD) experience is preferred
  • The ideal candidate understands and has a proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include client leadership, business development, financial oversight, design quality, and project delivery.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Federal marketplace, FAR/DFARs, UFCs, key clients, and industry trends
  • Has the ability to support corporate Federal business development activities through early client interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface
  • A strong desire to train, mentor and develop staff to grow their careers and the business
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills including graphic, verbal and written between project team, clients, vendors, and contractors
