Description

Job Description: The primary focus of this position is to maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of common area facilities including but not limited to, the parking garages/parking lots, public restrooms, company vehicles, and exterior building.

Duties of the Maintenance II include but are not limited to:

 

  • Knowledge of equipment used in parking maintenance. Training for major equipment is completed and passed with a $1/hour raise after, at least, 90 days of employment
  • Perform most janitorial functions (empty trash, mop, vacuum, etc…) at multiple parking locations.
  • Maintain parking garages and facilities with the ability to make minor repairs.
  • Lawn care - mow, rake, spread fertilizer, remove leaves and other debris from landscaped areas, inside parking garages and trimming and pruning of trees/bushes as directed.
  • Snow removal – keep walkways, garages and entries clear of snow by using a snow plow, shovel, snow blower, salt spreader and ice chipper during the winter months.
  • Use ParkItDesk for Work Order tracking and updates.
  • Drive City vehicles with or without trailer and fill up gas tank when needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Troubleshoot issues if a manager isn’t present
  • Training any new hires on daily job duties and equipment for step-up programs.
  • Fill in as a cashier during special events or to relieve an employee for break.
  • Work in all weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat, dust etc…).
  • Other tasks assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Integrity - Must be honest and ethical.
  • Proficient with MS Office with emphasis on Excel.
  • Motivation - Must be independent and motivated to complete tasks.
  • Dependability - Must be ready to work at start time.
  • Communication - Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Pass a background check and drug test.

Working conditions and environment:

  • Maintenance employees work up to 90% of the time outside and should be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Repetitive use of hands, grasping and holding tools, extensive walking, standing, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, twisting, and stair climbing.

  • Position regularly works with various cleaning solvents, and hazardous substances for removal of graffiti, cleaning, painting, and other applications.

  • Environmental conditions include working in the weather of all types. Capable of working in extreme cold, heat, and high wind conditions for extended periods.
