Part-time and seasonal, paid at the rate of $50 per Upper School game and $30 per Middle School game.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Game Day Clock Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down the table and all clock systems and equipment during basketball games.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setting up the table and clock systems for home games (in the Calhoun 81st Street gym)
  • Sitting at the score table during warmups and for the full duration of games
  • Running the score and/or shot clock and/or maintaining the scorebook
  • Communicating appropriately with refs when required or necessary
  • Reporting final scores to coaches and Athletics Administrators
  • Breaking down the table and clock systems at the end of games
  • Ensuring all equipment is put away, and the gym is clear once games are over
  • Working in partnership with coaches and Athletics Administrators before, during, and after games

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Understand the scoring system for basketball and be able to keep the scorebook when necessary
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of basketball
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with student-athletes, coaches, referees, and Athletics Department administrators
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and patience
  • Availability to work during required hours, anywhere between 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm

 

GAME SCHEDULE

  • Winter Season (Basketball): Monday, November 12, 2025 - Thursday, February 12, 2026

The employee is required to handle athletic equipment, talk, and hear while performing the duties of this job. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
