Position Overview:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Recreation Specialist to join our team and help create a positive, welcoming environment at the Recreation Center. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and being part of a team that makes a real difference in the community.

As the lead staff member during evening shifts, you’ll help open and close the facility, assist with recreation programs and events, support part-time staff, respond to patron needs, and help keep the space safe, clean, and running smoothly. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with program scheduling, customer service, equipment inspections, and more—skills that can help you grow in the field of parks and recreation.

Workweek: Monday – Friday 12:45 PM – 9:15 PM

This is a Full-time, benefits eligible position. The starting range is $19.62 – $22.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead daily facility operations during evening shifts, including closing duties.

· Support part-time staff and ensure positive patron experiences.

· Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the facility.

· Assist with recreation program setup, scheduling, and customer service.

· Respond to emergencies, complete reports, and track facility usage.

· Help with administrative tasks like data entry, inventory, and marketing materials.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of increasingly responsible experience in clerical and administrative support, recreation programming, or a related field.

Training:

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, leisure services, physical education, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Alternative combinations of experience and education may be considered.

License or Certification:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license may be required.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.
