Service Technician - PMP

Groff Tractor & Equipment, LLC. a leading construction equipment dealership in Pennsylvania is looking for an individual to immediately fill the full-time position of Service Technician Paving & Material Processing Specialist.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician with expertise in Paving and Milling equipment as well as Material Processing equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics involved in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems assigned by the Service Manager 

• Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases in repairs 

• Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment and vehicles 

• Communicate with others professionally 

Requirements: 

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, with a focus on pavers, milling machines, crushers, screeners, and compaction equipment is preferred but not required. 

• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. 

• Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. 

• Experience with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as diagnostic software (Cat ET, Cummins Insite, Service Advisor, etc.) 

• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and tools effectively. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• The ability to work independently 

• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established protocols. 

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities. 

• Relevant certifications or trade school education a plus. 

• Have a thorough assortment of your own tools with socket sets up to and including 1/2 “drive as well as spanner wrenches up to 1 ½”.
