DEPARTMENT: Golf Course Operations
TITLE: Bartender – Hopkins Park Community Center
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Provide responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol for events held in the Hopkins Park Terrace Room.

 

PAY RATE: $15.00/hour - $17.00/hour

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Responsible to Golf & Rental Facilities Operations Manger
SUPERVISION EXCERCISED: None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES: Duties and responsibilities listed below are illustrative only and not meant to be a full and exhaustive listing of all duties and responsibilities associated with this position.
1. Serve/sell drinks to guests at events held in the Terrace Room.
2. Accurately keep and collect bar tabs and/or account for sales through register.
3. Verify age of guests (21 and over) who wish to consume alcoholic beverages by checking identification.
4. Prohibit alcohol consumption by guests under the age of 21 and guests who appear overly intoxicated.
5. Resolve concerns/needs with the rental party, caterer, DJ, etc., to conduct a successful event.
6. Monitor events to ensure safety of guests and facility.
7. Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES:
1. Set-up/take-down bar operation before and after events.
2. Perform cleaning duties at the end of events.
3. Ensure building is secured at conclusion of events.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and Experience:
A. High School diploma preferred.
2. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A. Have current (or willing to obtain) TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedure) certification.
B. Basic knowledge of bartending (training provided when appropriate).
C. Knowledge of proper cash management procedures.
D. Excellent customer service skills.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:
1. Bottles, knives, plastic drink cups, mops, brooms.

The noise level is usually moderate and occasionally loud. The environment can also include the use of cleaning products that may contain fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
