American Academy has a full-time opening for an Intervention Specialist for the 2025-26 academic year to deliver Intervention services for general education/MTSS students in a K-8 setting at our Lincoln Meadows campus.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of MTSS Plans, goal setting, and instructional programs
- Administer appropriate and correct use of informal educational assessments for intervention
development and matches student needs for learning
- Collaborate and share expertise on data analysis and targeted interventions with appropriate stakeholders
- Communicate with teachers, parents, and SSS team regarding student performance
- Plans and implements learning plans, lessons and/or variety of interventions that reflect
understanding and support of unique learning needs and objectives of students.
- Direct instruction of students
- Evaluate and report out on progress toward student academic and personal goals
- Attend meetings such as MTSS meetings, grade level meetings, in-services, etc.
- Facilitate MTSS process and participate as member of MTSS team
Requirements
- CDE Teaching License with endorsement in Reading
- Previous experience educating students with learning difficulties, familiarity with DIBELS and iReady assessments, and the Science of Reading
- Proven ability to integrate learning needs of children and adapt curriculum
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons in all content areas
- Vision for developing a high functioning Intervention/MTSS team with other interventionists
- Report out and disaggregate student data and progress
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff, students and parents
- Strong classroom management skills
