Description

The Grove seeks to be the most welcoming and hospitable church we can be. As part of our Events Ministry vision, we regularly open the church as a venue for special events to our church family and to the community, building bridges to meet spiritual needs and connect people to Christ. The Outside Events Ministry Coordinator oversees communications and organizational details for external events to ensure everyone who comes onto our campus feels the love of Jesus. This is a critical role requiring discernment, clear communication and great attention to detail in order to execute events that meet a standard of excellence and reflect the heart of The Grove.


Reports to:       Hub & Events Ministry Director
Works with:     Events Team, Ministry Support, Volunteers, Church Families, Guests
Works:              Part time, 25 hours per week, exempt

EVENT COORDINATION – 80%                                

  • Schedule all outside ministry events in Planning Center Resources: weddings, banquets, conferences, etc.
  • Create regular reports on scheduled events.
  • Review policies and procedures of onsite events with guests.
  • Coordinate inter-departmental communications relating to event’s needs.
  • Galvanize and Coordinate SMT leaders for High School Banquets; communicate ministry vision and develop students in their heart for biblical hospitality.
  • Oversee Event Hosts for individual events; host events as needed, providing exceptional hospitality and support; train Event Hosts in ministry vision and biblical hospitality.
  • Serve as a leader on Community/Bridge Events team, contributing and executing ideas for activities, atmosphere and décor.
  • Coordinate event information with event departments; floor plans, timelines, details of events; order and organize linens for all departments.
  • Actively engage with the community through events, fostering relationships and extending The Grove’s outreach mission.

OTHER MINISTRY – 20%

  • Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
  • Create/decorate event spaces.
  • Attend weekly Event Teams meetings; facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Attend church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
