Description

The Grove’s KIDS Ministry exists to partner with parents in cultivating the spiritual growth of their children in first through fourth grade. With a large number of children and parents at The Grove, this position is highly administrative in nature. The Weekend Coordinator works closely with the Director to create vision and develop programs and activities for the Children’s Ministry.
 

Reports to:      Children’s Ministry Director
Works with:    KIDS Ministry volunteers and staff
Works:             Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, salary

ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT– 10%                   

  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain the organization of the B-Building by making sure classrooms are stocked and have all of the appropriate materials that are needed.
  • Coordinate promotional materials for KIDS ministry events.

LEADERSHIP – 30%                                    

  • Recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers and employees.
  • Pray for volunteers, develop their ministry hearts, and guide them in shaping a clear vision for ministry.
  • Build community and vision in volunteer and leadership teams.
  • Maintain communication with volunteers to ensure overall health and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate appreciations for volunteers, leaders and staff.
  • Develop and implement safety programs (e.g., electronic check-in policies and procedures, emergency preparedness, etc.).

MINISTRY PROGRAM & EVENTS – 40%         

  • Prepare curriculum and activities for weekend services.
  • Assist in overseeing all elements of weekend programs and activities and teach Bible lessons to classrooms as needed.
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of weekend services and Family Night.
  • Prepare curriculum and assist in overseeing our 4th Grade Discipleship Midweek Program.
  • Participate in planning and executing Summer Splash as well as camps and other events and activities.
  • Manage theme development weekend graphics and worship stage (set) development.

PARENTAL RESOURCE – 10% 

  • Provide families with training and resources for personal and spiritual growth.
  • Provide parent information regarding curriculum and upcoming activities.

OTHER MINISTRY – 10%

  • Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
  • Attend team meetings, all-staff meetings, and devotions; lead staff devotions.
