Bienvenido! The Grove’s Spanish Ministry is a crucial part of our church’s mission to reach, serve, and lead our Spanish speaking congregation in Riverside and Perris. The Spanish Ministry Pastor brings high level vision and direction to the spiritual care and development of the Spanish Ministry at The Grove. This position provides pastoral oversight of worship, teaching, service, stewardship and fellowship within the Spanish speaking community. The Spanish Ministry Pastor serves as a member of The Grove’s Pastoral Team, integrating church vision, mission and values within the Spanish Ministry area.
Reports To: Outreach Pastor
Works with: Spanish ministry staff and volunteers; Outreach staff; Pastoral Team
Works: Full time, 40 hours per week
Staff and Volunteer Leadership 25%
- Provide vision, strategy and direction to Spanish Ministry team.
- Develop and train staff and volunteer leaders.
- Recruit, lead and disciple volunteers.
- Maintain communication with volunteers to ensure overall health and effectiveness.
Preaching and Outreach 35%
- Provide a biblically based preaching and teaching ministry in Spanish language services and Bible study.
- Preach regularly in Spanish Ministry weekend services in Riverside and Perris.
- Develop a team of volunteer teachers who will preach and teach regularly in Spanish services and Bible studies.
- Continually develop new approaches to reaching the Spanish speaking community in Perris and Mead Valley; develop and implement church planting strategies.
- Invest time in the Perris and Mead Valley community through community center events and other opportunities to build relationships.
- Respond to emergencies which may require pastoral presence.
Organizational Leadership 20%
- Plan and execute services, ministry events and outreach events.
- Oversee Spanish Ministry department budget.
- Continually evaluate effectiveness of Spanish Ministry programs.
- Oversee the Spanish Ministry Coordinator.
Other Ministry 20%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Participate in general ministry and initiatives; perform pastoral visits, discipleship, counseling, weddings and funerals.
- Attend ministry staff meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings; lead staff devotions.
Requirements:
- Seminary or Bible School education
- Bilingual Fluency in Spanish and English
