Description

As the Director of Economic Empowerment Services is responsible for the vision, expansion, strategic direction and leadership of HAWC’s Economic Empowerment program. The Director will oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of economic empowerment services, ensuring they are trauma-informed, evidence-based and survivor-centered. This role is critical in expanding the program's impact across both residential and non-residential clients, and will develop strategic partnerships with employers, training providers, and educational institutions to advance economic mobility and long-term independence for survivors. The Director of Economic Empowerment Services will lead the program’s growth, establish and nurture strategic community partnerships and ensure program sustainability through successful funder reporting and performance management. Working enterprise-wide, this position will collaborate with other client services teams to ensure a holistic approach to survivor economic mobility, ultimately reducing financial barriers to safety and independence.

  • Full Time
  • Grant Funded Position: This position is supported by grant funding and continued employment is contingent upon the renewal of that funding, all grants are subject to renewal.  
  • Projected end date without renewal- June 30, 2027
  • Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed)
  • Work Model: 100% on-site
  • Local Travel: 25%, if applicable

 

 

Our Total Compensation Package:

  • Annual Compensation: $107,500
  • Pay schedule semi-monthly

Qualifications

The Requirements We are Seeking:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice, or other social science.
  • A minimum of five years of case management experience, career/job development required and/or residential experience in a social service agency.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role, with supervision of direct reports.
  • Experience in program development, strategic planning and partnership building required.
  • Strong background in funder reporting, compliance and program evaluation preferred.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of domestic and/or sexual violence preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Computer savvy able to learn new systems and applications quickly.
  • Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish, able to read, speak, and write both languages fluently, strongly preferred.

 

What you Deliver in this role:

 

  • You will design and expand innovative programming focused on financial education, workforce development, job training and career advancement opportunities for survivors.
  • You will develop, implement and revise policies and procedures for economic empowerment services, ensuring compliance with agency and funder requirements, as well as best practices.
  • You will cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, trade schools, certification programs and community organizations to increase job placement opportunities for survivors. Develop relationships with financial institutions, workforce development agencies, and educational providers to support survivors in financial literacy and career advancement.
  • You will represent HAWC in community collaborations, funder meetings and other relevant opportunities related to economic empowerment
  • Work cross-functionally with other client services teams to strengthen integration of economic empowerment into holistic survivor services.
  • You will assist with establishing and overseeing program outputs and outcomes, ensuring data collection, reporting and evaluation meet agency and funder requirements. Ensure compliance with funder guidelines, including tracking program impact.
  • You will supervise staff, providing guidance, professional development and support. Ensure staff are trained in trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches. Support the growth and sustainability of the team, including hiring and performance management.
  • You will regularly visit and communicate with counterparts and stakeholders at Survivor Empowerment Hubs throughout the city, which are operated by various community partners. Ensure proper and efficient service delivery at these hubs and leverage opportunities to develop new community partnerships.
  • You will lead the development and management of program budgets, ensuring financial responsibility and sustainability.
