The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a course in the Healthcare Executive MBA program during the fall of 2025 (October-December 2025). The class meets on Thursdays online and in-person on four Saturdays.  

Responsibilities

  • Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of their course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes

Course Description

  • MBAH 5408 Clinical Decision Making (October 22 - December 9, 2025; online on Thursdays from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm and in-person on four Saturdays from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm) -- This course introduces students to the nature of clinical process and decision making in clinical care. The course provides context for understanding the relationship between and among clinicians in the rendering of care to patients. It explores the nature of clinical care itself. Specifically, following the model of case-based learning, and by participating in clinical presentation and analysis, students as administrators will gain an understanding of the process, priorities, motivations, strengths, and limitations of clinical decision making. Students will also broaden their knowledge of and fluency in clinical terminology and communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business or Management with an emphasis on healthcare, clinical decision making, or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching healthcare or clinical decision making courses at the MBA or graduate level
  • Working proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency working with Zoom
  • Must be a California resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Business or Management with emphasis on healthcare, or PhD in healthcare-related field, or a terminal Medical degree (such as MD, DO etc)
  • Experience teaching clinical decision making at the MBA level
  • Work experience in the healthcare industry or in a clinical setting where managerial decision making is involved
