Job Purpose :
The Access Coordinator assists the Director of School and Teacher Programs in sustaining and growing programs for people on the Autism spectrum. This is a part-time position, 16-20 hours/week.
Autism program responsibilities:
Program Duties :
- Work with Director of School and Teacher Programs to develop, promote, and host monthly Autism Art Workshops and 3 Sensory Friendly Sundays (SFS); programs are held on Sundays.
- Research appropriate teaching artists, performers and vendors, schedule, and coordinate their participation for art workshops and SFS.
- Create contracts for each vendor/artist and complete check requests for each vendor/artist one week before each program.
- Meet teaching artists, performers, vendors prior to each program to coordinate logistics.
- Order supplies as needed for programs.
- Create and send out supports such as social narratives and visual schedules.
- Be on site for set-up, as program host and manager, and for break-down of each program.
- Teach the Autism Art Workshop program as needed.
Promotion :
- Develop audiences and potential vendor partnerships for SFS through meetings with community partners.
- Collaborate with Communications team for outreach/PR; collaborate with design team for SFS flyers and materials.
- Collaborate with design team on website posts for events as well as autism support materials for the website.
Building Audience :
- Learn registration software, Altru and Extrulink, to facilitate audience registration.
- Phone registered families to introduce yourself, learn about them, and inform them about the art workshops.
- Send reminder emails to families before both Autism Art Workshops and SFS events.
- Greet and assist families on the day of the event.
- Assess programs through audience surveys after each program and file all data in the shared drive.
Building Capability :
- Collaborate with Docent and Volunteer Manager (DVM) to schedule volunteers for SFS. Send reminder email out to volunteers with information before SFS. Assist DVM in developing reliable cohort of volunteers for these events.
- Lead an orientation for volunteers on the morning of the SFS event. Lead an orientation for security, VE and restaurant staff on the morning of the SFS event.
Administration :
- Assist the Director of School and Teacher Programs, LCE, and Finance to develop annual budget and manage costs throughout the year.
- Schedule programs on the Master Calendar.
- Attend Operations meetings on weeks when programs occur.
- Meet with donors as requested by Development staff.
- Share reports and information with LCE and Development after each program or as requested.
