Job Title:        Kid Squad Site Supervisor

Department:  Recreation

Location:        1500 E. Euclid, Mount Prospect, IL 60056

Reports To:    Recreation Supervisor, Kid Squad Coordinator

Supervises:   Kid Squad Leaders

Status:            Part-time, Non-exempt

 

Essential Functions

The Kid Squad Site Supervisor is responsible for the immediate supervision of the Kid Squad program at a specific school.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the park district’s policies and operations and enforce them in a positive manner
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community organizations and residents
  • Assist with area personnel including recruiting, training, scheduling, disciplining and evaluating as needed
  • Monitor area staff off-days, submits for payroll & approves requests
  • Assist supervisor in development and attends staff orientation and on-going trainings
  • Meet regularly with Recreation Supervisor and/or Kid Squad Coordinator
  • Maintain accurate attendance and sign-in/out participant books and updates class lists
  • Create and maintain close communications with the school facility staff
  • Assist with payroll as needed
  • Document and submit all accident/incident and participant Behavior Management reports
  • Communicate with parents regarding behavioral issues
  • Document and submit all accident/incident reports
  • Plan and coordinates weekly activities
  • Prepare routine and special reports as directed
  • Supervise facilities as needed
  • Dispense medicine to participants as needed
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned

 

Risk Management

  • Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules
  • Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed
  • Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your direct supervisor
  • Enforces safety disciplinary policies and procedures
  • Uses protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens
  • Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the River Trails Park District.
 

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Three (3) years progressive experience working with staff
  • Experience working with children
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service focus

 

Recommended Qualifications

  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment

_          Sedentary Work         Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

 

    X       Light Work.                Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.  Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.

 

             Light Medium Work.  Lifting 30 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
