Job Title: Golf Maintenance – Part-Time IMRF
Department: Parks and Facilities
Location: Woodland Trails Park, 1500 E. Euclid, Mount Prospect, IL 60056
Reports To: Superintendent of Golf / Greenskeeper
Status: Part-time, 30 - 40 hours per week depending on park district needs
Summary
Performs maintenance duties within the Rob Roy Golf course and Park District.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs by use of reel-type and rotary mowers
- Cut grass using a push, or rider lawn mower or power trimmer
- Change putting green cups on greens
- Hand shovel dirt or gravel
- Assist in aerating and top dressing greens
- Operation of irrigation pumps
- Manual watering
- Application of fertilizer
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Trim trees, pick up brush, and load brush
- Plant and care of trees and shrubbery, and flower beds
- Painting
- Washing vehicles
- Emptying garbage cans
- Blowing off paths and parking lots
- Snow Removal
- Perform light maintenance and construction duties
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must arrive at work on time
Risk Management
- Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District
- Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules
- Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed
- Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your director supervisor
- Enforces safety disciplinary policies and procedures
- Uses material handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and/or moving objects 50 pounds or heavier
- Uses protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens
Additional Functions
- Performs other duties and functions as requested
- On call nights and weekends as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License
- Must have the ability to operate equipment and tools safely and proficiently
- Must possess ability to work in team efficiently.
- Must possess customer service skills
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Knowledge of a variety of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the general upkeep, repairs, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics of buildings, grounds and playground equipment.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in golf course maintenance
- Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment
- Be in good physical condition and must have the ability to handle strenuous and varied physical activity in all weather, including but not limited to, extensive lifting, standing, walking and climbing.

_ Sedentary Work Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.
