About the Role
Courion is seeking a detail-oriented and systems-driven Quality Systems Engineer to lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS). In this role, you’ll manage documentation, ensure compliance with quality standards, and support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the business.

What You’ll Do
Quality Management System (QMS)
-
Maintain and improve the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.

Manage document control for all quality and operational procedures.

Prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Technical Documentation
-
Develop and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and quality records.

Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Safety teams to ensure accuracy and usability.

Lead training and rollout of new or revised documentation.
Continuous Improvement & Lean
-
Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing projects.

Identify opportunities for process efficiency, waste reduction, and standardization.

Use problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA, and Kaizen events.
Process & Product Quality
-
Support inspections and record results at incoming, in-process, and final stages.

Lead root cause investigations and manage CAPA activities.

Track and report key quality metrics such as defects, rework, and audit findings.

Process and document RMAs, coordinating with suppliers and customers as needed.
Supplier Quality

Evaluate and monitor suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Partner with Purchasing and Engineering to define component quality requirements.

Manage supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Compliance & Collaboration
-
Ensure compliance with ASME A17.1, EN 81, and related manufacturing codes.

Generate and present quality data and trend reports.

Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams.

Provide training on quality systems, documentation, and CI tools.
What You’ll Bring
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.

Equivalent experience in quality assurance or documentation control may be considered.
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years in quality systems, compliance, or document control within a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience managing technical documentation (SOPs, work instructions, manuals).

Exposure to supplier quality management, audits, and NCR processes.
Technical Skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio or equivalent for process mapping).

Experience with QMS/ERP and electronic document control systems.
-
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME A17.1, EN 81, and related standards.

Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and CAPA tools.
