Position Summary:

The role of the Supply Planner is to ensure capacity plans are followed and track associated required capacity to optimize service, working capital and costs. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. Internal Relationships: All Departments

External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Demand & Supply Planning Manager to determine appropriate methods of scheduling work order completion. 
  • Understand best methods to utilize production capacity.
  • Ensure capacity plan is followed.
  • Troubleshoot potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare information to assist in the development of budgets and prepare reports to demonstrate performance towards goals.
  • Assist with research efforts to identify significant variances between estimates and actual job completion times. 
  • Utilize ERP system to develop material and production requirements.
  • Work with Sales and Operations to determine priorities and schedules required to meet customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong comprehension of theory of constraints. 
  • 2+ years experience in production planning, inventory control or related experience in a fabrication environment.
  • Possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes.
  • Ability to understand manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent computer skills, with ability to apply scheduling and data management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • College degree preferred.

 

Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:     

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
