Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact during project development, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, utilities, partners, and consultants.
- Lead client-facing meetings, presentations, and progress discussions; ensure expectations are understood and met.
- Capture client feedback, translate into project requirements, and proactively communicate impacts to internal teams.
- Represent Roncelli professionally in industry, community, and client settings—positioning the company as a trusted EPC partner.
Business Development & Proposal Generation
- Lead preconstruction efforts during project pursuits, including proposal development, estimating coordination, and project strategy.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify future projects, pursue new accounts, and expand renewable-energy market penetration.
- Support financial modeling and development of commercial terms for EPC proposals.
- Conduct preliminary site reviews, feasibility assessments, and permitting research to validate project viability.
Project Planning & Budgeting
- Develop detailed project budgets, cost estimates, and preliminary schedules aligned with client objectives and industry standards.
- Support value-engineering strategies to drive efficient project execution and improve cost competitiveness.
Collaboration & Technical Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, estimating, project management, field operations, and subcontract partners to define project scope and technical requirements.
- Ensure renewable energy system components (PV, BESS, etc.) are correctly integrated into design and procurement plans.
Procurement & Subcontractor Management
- Prepare and manage RFIs, RFPs, and bid packages during the development phase.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals and support subcontractor selection based on technical expertise, pricing, and market readiness.
Risk Management & Decision Support
- Evaluate financial, schedule, and technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide leadership and decision-making support during development milestones and client reviews.
Transition to Construction
- Ensure seamless turnover to the project execution team by providing complete development packages, documentation, and design deliverables.
- Participate in handoff meetings and support early construction alignment.
Skills & Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, energy storage; wind preferred).
- Proven experience developing accurate cost estimates, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead client meetings, support presentations, and drive alignment among diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in construction management tools such as Procore, Primavera, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field or experience equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of commercial construction preconstruction or project development experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, project pursuit strategies, and proposal development.
The Location
Roncelli’s headquarters is in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This position will operate in a hybrid model—primarily from our main office, with periodic travel to project sites or client facilities within Michigan and the Great Lakes region.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in both office and field settings, involving regular computer use, meetings, and review of drawings and project documentation. Occasional site visits may expose the employee to typical construction conditions, including noise, dust, uneven terrain, and varying weather, where proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The role may involve standing or walking for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
