Machinist 2 has the skills needed and is responsible for producing metal parts using lathes, mills, and C.N.C machines independently. They can read and accurately use measuring tools as well as set up, operate and perform basic maintenance of the equipment. This is a swing shift position that will begin with training on day shift.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring projects are completed accurately and in accordance with GEM Equipment quality standards
- Operate C.N.C machines and/or manual machines without supervision
- Load and save C.N.C programs
- Alter offsets to keep parts in tolerance
- Change tooling when needed
- Monitor and add fluids to machines when needed
- Machine parts to specifications provided
- Set up proven production parts
- Make adjustments to programs when needed
- Complete any required paperwork for assigned projects
- Help train new employees when required
- Drive forklift
- Keep work area clean and sweep after every shift
- Possess your own precisions tools
- Possess protective equipment
- Steel toed boots
- Safety glasses
