Description

Charlotte Latin seeks a creative, detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join its Marketing and Communications team. 

 

Position Summary

The part-time Marketing Coordinator supports a wide range of marketing and storytelling initiatives that elevate the school’s visibility, celebrate its people, and enhance the brand across digital and print platforms. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Content & Campaign Support

  • Create compelling content for publication across the school’s internal and public-facing channels for a wide range of community stakeholders (students, families, faculty/staff, alumni, parents of alumni, donors, and more).
  • Assist in the copyediting, proofreading, and scheduling of communications, emails, announcements, and event promotions.
  • Capture photos and videos of activities across our campus and community. 
  • Design graphics, logos, flyers, programs, and emails.
  • Upload and organize photos, video clips, testimonials, and quotes in the asset management system.

Social Media Management

  • Assist with day-to-day management of the school’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Draft engaging captions, curate visual content, and assist in monitoring performance metrics and audience engagement.
  • Attend occasional school events to capture real-time content (photo/video/stories).
  • Propose fresh ideas for content and new tools/technologies.

Website & Digital Updates

  • Update website content using the school’s content management system, ensuring pages are current and on-brand.
  • Support SEO best practices and review analytics to inform improvements.
  • Assist in building and updating event landing pages or microsites as needed.

Project Coordination

  • Maintain work and updates in the department’s project tracker and content calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, etc.) on requests and deliverables, and approach projects with a friendly and collaborative spirit.
  • Help manage vendor relationships for print jobs, swag, signage, and branded materials.
  • Proactively communicate status updates and anticipate and navigate potential risks to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a school, nonprofit, or mission-driven setting.

Skills 

  • Strong written communication skills with a love of storytelling and an eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (Canva, Meta Business Suite, FB/Insta, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Basic graphic design and layout skills (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva experience preferred).
  • Comfortable using or learning CMS platforms, email marketing software (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and project management tools (e.g., Adobe Workfront, Trello, Asana, Basecamp).
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage, and collaborate on multiple projects involving various stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic team player with strong organizational skills, creativity, and initiative.
  • Warmth, flexibility, and a genuine interest in education and community-building.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.

 

Working Conditions and Environment

  • Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
  • Frequently talk and hear.
  • Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold.
  • Long or odd hours, as needed.
