Job Purpose:
The Business Analyst is responsible for spearheading department and function specific reporting and analysis for the business. This role develops professional expertise with a solid understanding of team and department goals and operations, seeking continuous growth and learning opportunities. The Business Analyst works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data may be required, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills, multitasking ability, and working effectively with internal stakeholders across functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Identify and analyze booking trends
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and projected financials.
- Produce external and internal scheduled reporting
- Analyze business data using SQL and analytics tools to extract meaningful trends and insights
- Build and manage dashboards, reports, and analytical models for department reporting and performance
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Data Management and Optimization:
- Collaborate with IT/Systems team on database management and reporting
- Develop data validation processes to ensure accuracy of reporting.
- Optimize databases for improved performance
- Maintain reporting portals and scheduled reports
- Implement automation tools to streamline data extraction and reporting.
- Performance Analysis:
- Track and report on financial KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with department heads to assess productivity for each department
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Build productive and stable working relationships with internal functional teams
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders
- Interact with cross-functional teams with some support and supervision from senior team members
- Project Management and Reporting:
- Conduct overall analysis, projects & statistical studies
- Generate reports from various systems and manipulate data in Excel and Access
- Report results to appropriate senior and departmental management at least quarterly
