Position Summary:
Power Solutions International is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to join the Human Resources team in our corporate office. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing company Safety policies and procedures in a manufacturing setting with multiple facilities.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Senior Safety Specialist promotes a company culture focused on safety awareness aimed at keeping all employees safe and preventing safety and accident events through communication, programs, training, policy development and enforcement and analysis and reporting of data.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, monitor, and assess safety programs, processes, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements and effectively reduce or eliminate occupational injury and illness
- Design or change Safety policy and processes to minimize or eliminate risk by overseeing results of, or conducting, audits, inspections, and investigations of facilities, procedures, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and coordinate resolution of issues, violations, and hazards
- Develop and deliver safety training to increase employee awareness of safety requirements and assist department heads and administrators in enforcing safety regulations and codes
- Manage workers’ compensation cases, including claims and return to work accommodations
- Review and analyze all safety data and reports of all safety recordable accidents or events, and report findings and metrics to senior leadership
- Define and support activities related to fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety concerns
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety standards and ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
- All other duties as assigned by management
