Summary:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Shift Lead develops and manages the direction and daily activities of the plant with the focus on people, organization, and process. This includes the supporting the manufacturing / processing cycle and ensuring timely logistical processing of product. Responsible for embracing and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the plant.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, coach, and manage the Production team aimed at directing the complete production process as well as effectively onboarding and developing people by establishing performance standards, evaluating individual and team performance, ensuring company policies are adhered to while meeting leadership’s goals using PSI’s IMPACT values (Innovation, Motivation, Passion, Accountability, Communication, Trust).
- Oversee production planning meetings that include representatives from sales, production, shipping, engineering, quality, and materials departments escalating all potential scheduling issues to company stakeholders.
- Drives team performance using quantifiable methods including assisting in the formulation of project estimates, measuring KPIs during production, and identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities within the plant.
- Develop and lead continuous improvement plans and implement sustainment measures such as standard work, department scorecards, etc.
- Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.
- Drive quality through internal and external root cause countermeasures. Implement root cause countermeasure actions needed to maintain schedule and cost targets, isolate issues and escalate as needed.
