Employment Horizons is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting people with barriers to employment in achieving their individual vocational objectives and establishing self-sufficiency in the community.

 

Position Overview:
We are looking for a creative, organized, and people-focused Work Readiness Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you’ll help individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment build essential job skills through engaging group instruction and one-on-one coaching. You’ll also collaborate with coworkers across departments to make sure our participants are growing, learning, and feeling confident as they prepare for meaningful community employment. If you love to teach, connect, and create and believe that learning can (and should!) be hands-on and fun, this might be your perfect job.

 

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake interviews to assess participant eligibility and level of work readiness
  • Design, schedule, and deliver fun, hands-on training sessions on workplace skills
  • Work with a caseload of participants to support their job readiness and growth
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to help participants build work habits, soft skills, and confidence
  • Coach coworkers who assist with training to ensure engaging, consistent delivery
  • Review and revise training content based on feedback and participant progress
  • Track and document participant progress in both instruction and case management
  • Contribute to individualized planning and program development
  • Help create a culture of learning, creativity, and success for all participants

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, psychology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience facilitating groups, coaching, or teaching
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in job readiness instruction, curriculum development, or adult education
  • Familiarity with employment services or disability supports
  • Experience with case management or person-centered planning
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use their hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
