Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Salary: $45,000-$50,000 annually, adjusted based on experience

Job Summary: 

The Social Media & Content Specialist is primarily responsible for capturing and producing social media content for Killington Resort, Pico Mountain and kparks and managing the kparks & Killington Bike Park social media channels. This self-motivated individual will be expected to create industry-leading photo and video content, consistent with Killington Resort’s voice and branding to enhance the efforts of the marketing team and the resort as a whole by working directly with the marketing and terrain park teams to determine content needs. This team member aims to expand and engage our social media audience and create brand affinity through skilled use of both social media and influencer marketing. The specialist must be passionate about capturing all aspects of resort and terrain park life and marketing that content to an evolving consumer. The ideal candidate will have insider knowledge of youth marketing, action sports, mountain biking and the ski/snowboard terrain park scene. Snow reporting will also be required weekly. The Social Media & Content specialist will also be required to aid in the production and editing of longer-form content for use outside of social media.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:  

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Develop, manage, and own kparks & Killington Bike Park social media calendars driven by data and insights to support marketing efforts with Killington Resort’s channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, X,TikTok and YouTube.
  • Deliver new content daily to promote Killington Resort, Pico Mountain, k parks, Killington Bike Park, Wobbly Barn and the Killington Grand Hotel primarily for social media but occasionally for advertising campaigns and on-resort collateral.
  • Assist in executing the resort’s brand strategy and social media marketing plans as they relate to  Youth/Action sports culture and terrain parks through the development and maintenance of a content calendar within the department’s project management tool.
  • Analyze, track, and measure performance against KPI’s and report on weekly social campaigns.
  • Coordinate athletes and influencers who elevate the brand through social media including but not limited to Killington’s kparks athlete team, bike park influencers and other miscellaneous content creator relationships
  • Assist in creating website content for terrain parks and youth/action sports events, products and promotions.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of social media trends and opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of social media content with the Creative Services manager for photo and video shoot logistics for Killington and Woodward Killington social media content.
  • Use Killington’s digital asset management system appropriately and in accordance with the guidelines set by the brand marketing team.
  • Assist in snow reporting on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Social Media & Content Creator should have at least 1-3 years’ experience in video and photo production, social media management, or other appropriate field, plus a combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • Must have extensive terrain park skiing/snowboarding experience (advanced intermediate or above level terrain park skier or snowboarder) and knowledge of skiing/snowboarding terminology and culture
  • Must have intermediate downhill mountain bike experience
  • Familiarity with ski industry required and Killington Resort desired
  • Familiarity with current social media trends specifically on TikTok and Instagram required
  • Experience using a variety of camera equipment required (DSLRs, Mirrorless SLRs, GoPros/Action Cams, Wireless Mics, Lighting accessories, etc.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite Required – Specifically with Premiere Pro, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop
  • Experience with Canva and Adobe After Effects a plus

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to work cooperatively with other company personnel
  • Strong organization and communications skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to shoot and edit Reels and TikTok videos with speed and ease
  • Prior Drone experience a plus. If a candidate is not Part 107 Certified through the FAA, they will be required to obtain certification (with all costs covered by Killington)
