Compensation & Differentials
The starting rate for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) is $18.36 per hour. HeartShare offers opportunities to increase your hourly rate up to $20.36 per hour through the following differentials:
- Driving Differential: Candidates with a valid driver’s license who are assigned to drive for HeartShare and successfully complete HeartShare’s driver training and assessment upon hire will receive an additional pay differential.
- AMAP Differential: Candidates who currently hold an AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) certification or who successfully complete HeartShare’s AMAP training and assessment upon hire are eligible for an additional pay differential.
Note: You do not need to have these certifications prior to hire HeartShare provides all required training and assessments. These differentials offer great opportunities to grow your skills and increase your earnings.
Position Summary:
The Day Hab Support Professional is responsible for implementing person-centered services for each program participant. This includes ensuring implementation of the individual’s goals/valued outcomes in relation to both center-based and community inclusion activities. In addition, the Day Hab Support Professional is directly responsible for the individual program participant’s overall safety and well-being.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:
Under the supervision of the Group Leader, the Day Hab Support Professional will:

Implement individual program participant’s Day Services Plan, consistent with their specific goals and valued outcomes. Participate in the planning and implementation of activities, both at the program center and in the community, that address these goals and outcomes.

Train/teach program participants according to their individual goals and valued outcomes. Facilitate skills development, socialization and active participation in conjunction with group room and community activities. Ensure that support is provided with consideration for each person’s individualized needs and routines.

Facilitate inclusion of program participants in their community, according to their individual needs, interests, and desires. Support program participants in forming and maintaining friendships with neighbors, co-workers and peers. Encourage interaction between individual program participants and community members. Remain focused on facilitating the development of personal relationships for individual program participants.

Transport program participants in agency vehicles, as required, for community inclusion, recreational purposes and to and from their home.

Assist in timely collection of consumer-related information, including behavioral data, goal-related data, community inclusion logs, communication books, etc., ensuring their accuracy and completeness.

Represent HeartShare both within and outside the organization in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, Adhere to HeartShare’s Mission, Vision and Values Statement, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
