In this role, you’ll help our youngest learners (ages 3–5) discover their strengths and build confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment. You’ll create engaging, adaptive lessons tailored to each child’s unique abilities, working closely with families and a collaborative team of professionals who share your commitment to helping children with special needs reach their fullest potential.
At HeartShare, you’ll do meaningful work every day, guiding, inspiring, and empowering children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Provide individual and/or small group academic and behavior support interventions for students

Prepare for and participate in IEP meetings for students

Deliver IEP-mandated instruction to students with disabilities

Participate in meetings to review data and adjust interventions for students not meeting grade-level benchmarks

Collaborate closely with the Education Coordinator, behavior support staff, and related service providers

Collect pre/post assessment data and conduct ongoing progress monitoring

Communicate regularly with caregivers and provide progress updates

Collaborate in an interdisciplinary planning and teaching team that meets the needs of all students

Implement curriculum and assessments aligned to Common Core Learning/NYS Standards and Creative Curriculum

Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning

Practice an open-door policy that encourages collaboration and best teaching practices

Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, maintaining ongoing communication with parents/guardians

Build partnerships and mentoring relationships with HeartShare personnel and faculty to enhance learning experiences

Maintain open communication with families by providing regular written updates on student progress and creating opportunities for family participation and inclusion

Share student achievement data with parents and families through TEAMS

Take on responsibilities that support classroom teaching, such as participating in department meetings, implementing school policy, collaborating on school initiatives, and communicating with parents throughout the school year
