The Supply Chain Specialist is a dynamic sales role responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and maintaining new business opportunities within defined territories. With a strong focus on the corrugated and packaging industry, this role requires a customer-focused approach to building and sustaining professional relationships. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Premier Packaging’s products and services, providing tailored solutions that align with client needs and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Prospect weekly through networking, referrals, cold calling, and phone sales to build a robust pipeline.
- Follow up on leads and referrals promptly and systematically.
- Develop a strategic plan to build and expand a territory successfully, contributing to Premier Packaging's growth.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain high-level professional relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) presentations with top clients, as directed by the Sales Manager.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, educating them on Premier Packaging's offerings and the best ways to utilize them.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate regularly with internal support teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Submit monthly reports detailing prospects, projects, and achievements to the local or regional Sales Manager.
- Operational Support:
- Monitor aged inventory and ensure inventory turnover within a 30-day cycle.
- Work closely with the accounting team to follow up on collections and resolve payment issues.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial sales or B2B sales experience required. Industry experience in packaging or paper is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to identify customer needs and offer strategic solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Communication and Sales Acumen:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer relationship and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively sell and manage client accounts, embodying both “hunter” and “farmer” sales styles.
