Job Description

The Product Marketing Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Product Marketing, is responsible for developing the strategy, messaging, and sales and marketing tools necessary to bring to market the dozens of SaaS software products and applications that are sold by Inhabit companies, including ResMan and ResidentIQ, into the Residential property management market. The role is perfect for a high-achieving, self-motivated individual who enjoys collaborating across teams on project-based work and is looking to hone their communication skills across a variety of mediums.

What You'll Do (Functions & Responsibilities)

  • Product Positioning, Messaging and Materials
    • Develop an understanding for the multifamily market and the role our products play in helping our customers succeed
    • Learn how our products are positioned and how we talk about the value proposition, features and benefits of our solution
    • Work with product teams and marketing colleagues to evolve value props, messaging and positioning as new features and capabilities are brought to market and as competitive solutions and customer needs change
    • Apply this understanding to create, evolve and maintain product marketing materials (collateral, website, sales presentations, videos, etc.) for existing products
    • Support the product and marketing teams in executing product-focused webinars
    • Coordinate with account managers to obtain customer testimonials, case studies and quotes for use in sales and marketing materials
  • Sales Enablement
    • Support the development and evolution of sales tools, collateral, and training materials to help the sales team in effectively communicating product value to prospects and customers
    • Assist with product training sessions for the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to succeed
  • Market Intelligence
    • Collaborate with sales to gather feedback and continuously refine product messaging and positioning
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors and customer needs and apply this knowledge as you develop and update sales and marketing materials
    • Assimilate competitive intelligence from a variety of internal and external sources to create and maintain battlecards for key products and to support the sales team as needed in competitive selling situations
    • Monitor engagement across websites and coordinate with SEO resources to refine messaging as needed to drive traffic and engagement
  • Customer Communication
    • Coordinate with product and marketing teams to support communication of product-related changes to customers
    • Support marketing team in executing product-focused white space and cross-sell/up-sell campaigns
  • Project Management
    • Develop project plans and timelines for deliverables requiring coordination across teams and/or with vendors and partners
    • Leverage tools like Asana to ensure that responsibilities are understood and projects are delivered on time

Qualifications

What We're Looking For (Minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum of 1 year work experience ideally in marketing, product management or a business-related role (co-ops and/or internships count)
  • Bachelor’s degree – ideally in marketing, communications, business or a related area
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and add value immediately in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well in a collaborative, cross-team capacity, and also independently
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Detail-oriented with extremely good follow-up
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves, even when it’s outside the scope of the job
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of SEO content, Google Analytics a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, InDesign or other design software a plus
  • Familiarity with website CMS systems like Wordpress or Webflow a plus
  • Experience with the multifamily industry a plus

Education Requirements

  • Degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

Travel Requirements

  • This role requires 3-4 weeks of travel per year. Additional travel may be required depending on business needs.
