Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure trailer is finished for QC

  • Fix mistakes found by QC- weld & finish

  • Ensure to help team members accomplish production goals

 

Safety & Tools Required

  • Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, long sleeve shirt and gloves

  • Tape measure, square, level, torch, plasma,

 

Operation (job steps)

  • Read the trailer order ticket.

  • Load material received from stagers onto stands.

  • Make cuts for light holes.

  • Mark measurements for stake pockets, hangers and fenders.

  • Stand material up and add crossmembers.

  • Tack material together and square up the trailer frame.

  • Once square, weld the frame together.

  • Measure tongue and make cuts.

  • Attach tongue to frame and tack together.

  • Center tongue and tack coupler on.

  • Check that everything is square and weld complete tongue and accessories.

  • Weld sides and underneath the trailer.

  • Attach any rear parts according to the ticket.

  • Weld on any options.

 

Troubleshooting

  • If something is missing, check with staging lead

  • Refer to drawings

 

Maintenance

  • Notify maintenance department
